IldenUI

One addon that replaces the parts of the default interface you look at most - unit frames, party and raid box, experience and reputation bars, menu and bag buttons - with compact, click-to-cast-friendly bars in one consistent look, and adds a missing-buff reminder.

What is in it

IldenUI is built from four modules. Each can be switched on or off on its own, so you can use all of it or just the one part you want.

ModuleWhat it doesCommand
ClicksA compact party box with click-to-cast healing: every bar shows a party member's health, mana, name and role, and each way of clicking a bar (any mouse button, with or without Shift, Ctrl and Alt) casts a spell, uses an item or runs a macro on that player. Comes with a target frame that takes the same clicks, a raid box for up to 40 players, and a small box beside every bar that shows which buffs that player is missing - one click gives the buff that is missing./ic
FramesReplaces the game's own player, target, target-of-target, pet, party and raid frames with bars in the same style: health and power bars, name, level, an optional portrait. Each frame has its own tab: show it or not, replace the game's frame or not, size, position, its own look if you want one./if
BuffsA small pop-up that shows the icon of any buff you never want to be without (Well Fed from the start; add any other). Click the icon and it fixes it: eats the first food on your list that you have in your bags, casts the spell, or runs a macro. Also warns you when you are still holding a fishing pole - a click puts your weapon back./ib
BarsReplaces the experience bar, the reputation bar, the menu buttons (character, spellbook, talents, map ...) and the bag buttons with IldenUI's own, in the shared look, each one movable and sized as you like. The bars can lie or stand; at max level the experience bar shows your watched reputation instead./ibars

Every module is optional

In the settings window (/iui) every module has a tick box next to its name in the side panel. Untick it and that module's frames disappear and it does nothing until you tick it again - no reload needed. The choice is saved per profile, so one character can run all four while another only uses Buffs. Only want the party box? Switch the other three off. Only the unit frames? Keep Frames and switch the rest off.

The modules work together - but only if you let them

Frames can take its clicks from Clicks: a linked frame casts exactly what the party bars cast and carries the same small box with the missing-buff squares. That link is on by default and optional - switch it off for all frames on the General page or per frame with the Link tick; an unlinked frame has the plain clicks of a unit frame (left click targets, right click opens the menu). Buffs can dock its pop-up onto the player frame, or float on its own. Every module follows one shared look (texture, font, colours, background, border) unless you give it a look of its own, and every element of every module - frames, boxes, the pop-up, the bars, the button rows - can be attached flush to any other so they move as one.

IldenUI replaces the earlier standalone addons IldenClicks, IldenFrames and IldenBuffs, which are no longer published. Everything they did is in here as the Clicks, Frames and Buffs modules, so you do not need them next to IldenUI - that would just be duplicates. If you still have them installed, IldenUI takes over their settings and switches them off.

Install

  1. Download the zip above and unpack it. You get one folder called IldenUI.
  2. Copy that folder into the game's AddOns folder. For the beta that is
    World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns\IldenUI
The folder must contain IldenUI.toc directly, not a second nested folder.
  3. Start the game or type /reload. On the character's first login IldenUI asks which setup to start from.

First start

A small window asks which preset to start from:

Both presets stay available on the Profiles page, so you can switch at any time. Then open /iui and tick or untick the modules you want.

Keep your settings

The Forever beta keeps addon settings while the game runs but forgets them when the game is fully closed. IldenUI works around it: /iui → Export → Ctrl+C, then double-click Save exported settings.bat in the IldenUI folder (Windows). It writes the clipboard into MySettings.lua next to it, and IldenUI restores that file at the next launch. The Export button turns gold with a * whenever something changed since the last export. When you update the addon, keep your own MySettings.lua - a fresh download ships an empty one.

Everything else

The README.md inside the zip explains every tab of every module, the General page (shared look, grouping and attaching, merging), profiles, and what the game does and does not allow in combat. If you have never used an addon like this, read Install, First start and Keep your settings there and you are set.
